Dear Community Members:
School coming to an end means the start of summer sinking fund projects. Some of these projects may make it more difficult for you to enter the buildings and/or work in classrooms. Look for signs to direct you to alternative entrances at each building.
Most of the work will be at the high school. The chiller project (air conditioning of the commons and auditorium) has already started. Ceilings in the commons and hallways in front of the kitchen and auditorium will be removed the day after school is out. The front walkway will also be renovated with the replacement of existing concrete and flower bed and the addition of new benches and landscaping.
Bids have been secured for the complete renovation of the science rooms at EAJ. All five classrooms and storage rooms will have new ceilings, cabinetry, and flooring along with the repair of the plumbing and electrical. The last major project at EAJ will be the painting of the walls in the pool area.
The much needed work in the junior high parking lot will be completed. The area has been excavated to provide adequate drainage and new paving. Anyone who normally parks in this lot will need to find an alternate area.
The entrance to the drive at Central Elementary will be widened to help prevent the “bottle neck” problem. Once again, staff will need to find an alternate area to park and enter the building.
Last, but not least, are the additional outlets and upgrade of circuits (to prevent constant tripping of circuit breakers) at Moore, Montague, Pinehurst, and Central.
It is our goal that all of these projects will be completed when students return in the fall.
