Dear Mt. Morris Families,

Our school community continues to grieve the recent loss of students within our community. We recognize that news of this nature can affect students in many different ways.

Support will be available in our schools throughout next week for any student who may need assistance. School counselors, social workers, and other support staff will be available to listen, provide guidance, and help students process their feelings.

During this difficult time, we encourage families to talk openly with their children, allow them to express their feelings, maintain familiar routines, and watch for significant changes in behavior, sleep, appetite, or school engagement. Please remind your child that asking for help is a sign of strength and that caring adults are available.

Families may also access the following community resources:

• Mt. Morris Youth Health and Wellness Center: 810-213-8192
• Genesee Health System 24-Hour Crisis Line: 810-257-3740
• Genesee Health System Text Crisis Line: Text GHS to 934688
• Genesee Health System Behavioral Health Urgent Care: I 040 W. Bristol Road, Flint; open 24 hours a day. Call 810-496-5500 for walk-in, virtual, or mobile crisis assistance.
• NAMI Genesee County: 810-232-6498 for mental health education, support, and
community resources.
• 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 at any time for free and confidential
support. Individuals do not need to be suicidal to contact 988.
• Michigan 2-1-1: Dial 211 to connect with community resources.

We extend our deepest sympathy to the families, friends, classmates, staff members, and community members affected by these losses. As a school community, we will continue to care for one another and ensure that students know they are supported during this incredibly difficult time.

Sincerely,

Mickie Kujat, Superintendent
