The Michigan Child Protection Registry helps block ads related to alcohol, vaping or tobacco, online gambling, pornography, and marijuana. RE: Bus Evacuation Drills
This message is to inform our families that all our buses will be practicing three bus evacuation drills this school year on:
• October 14, 2026
• March 17, 2027
• May 19, 2027
Michigan State Law requires schools to run bus evacuation drills on a regular basis every school year, and we wanted to inform our families ahead of time that we would be practicing one of these drills. Due to this, bus arrival times may be delayed on the date listed above by up to 20 minutes.
Buses will pull into the drill station once fully loaded, go over the procedures with students, conduct the drill from the location by moving students to a designated safe location, and then dismissing the buses once the drill is completed.
Middle School & High School Buses
*Buses will pull into the middle school front drive, as they normally do. Once students from the middle school are settled on the bus, the buses will conduct their evacuation drill prior to leaving the middle school parking lot.
Elementary School Buses
*Once the buses are loaded after pick up from Pinehurst, the buses will proceed to Batterbee Park and students will participate in their evacuation drill in the parking lot.

Our school community continues to grieve the recent loss of students within our community. We recognize that news of this nature can affect students in many different ways.
Support will be available in our schools throughout next week for any student who may need assistance. School counselors, social workers, and other support staff will be available to listen, provide guidance, and help students process their feelings.
During this difficult time, we encourage families to talk openly with their children, allow them to express their feelings, maintain familiar routines, and watch for significant changes in behavior, sleep, appetite, or school engagement. Please remind your child that asking for help is a sign of strength and that caring adults are available.
