Dear Mt. Morris Families:
We are asking for your help in reminding students never to accept, take, or use any item given to them by another student- especially medication. This includes prescription medication, over the-counter medication such as Tylenol or ibuprofen, vitamins, supplements, and any unknown substance.
Even common medications can be dangerous when taken by the wrong person, in the wrong amount, or without an adult's knowledge. Students should only take medication that has been provided and approved by their parent or guardian and administered according to school procedures.
Please talk with your child about the following safety expectations:
Never take medication or any unknown item from another student.
Never share medication with anyone, even if it is an over-the-counter product.
Do not eat or drink something if you are unsure what it is or where it came from .
Immediately report any medication or unknown substance to a trusted adult.
Tell an adult right away if someone offers them medication or pressures them to take something.
These conversations are important for keeping all students safe. We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing responsible choices at home.
Sincerely,
Mickie Kujat, Superintendent
